Account & backup
Layouts, profiles, imported PIDs and alarms live in a zip you control. The cloud account is optional and can be deleted.
Backup zip
Settings → export backup. Android’s document picker asks where to put the file. Import is the reverse, and it asks first:
“This replaces vehicles, dash layouts, imported PIDs and alarms on this phone.”
Inside the zip: vehicle profiles and their layouts, pids/custom.csv,
alarms/alarms.revalarm, and saved Wi-Fi adapters. The format version is not
bumped when a new entry is added, so a backup from this build restores on last
month’s, which ignores the extra files, and an older backup restores here as empty
catalogs rather than failing.
Trip CSVs are not in the zip. They are already files; export them from the trip dialog or download them from replay.
Cloud account
Settings → Cloud, or revdash.me/app. Sign out from either. Signing out does not delete trips on the server or on the phone.
There is no password-reset email yet. If you lose the password, that account is not recoverable from the product. Export a backup and any CSVs you care about before you find that out the hard way.
Delete a trip
In the web dashboard, delete from the trip list. Access stops immediately; the stored objects are swept shortly after. On the free tier, trips also age out 30 days after the drive ended.
Delete the account
From the account page on the web dashboard. That signs out every session at once, releases the email address, and queues stored telemetry for erasure. Encrypted backups of the server age out on their own schedule, so a copy may persist for a short period after deletion.
Uninstalling the Android app or clearing its storage deletes what was on the phone. Files you saved with the system picker are yours, wherever you put them.
Privacy
The full policy is at revdash.me/privacy. Short version: the app works without an account; uploads are manual; 3D replay uses Google Maps for the globe and a self-hosted map for 2D; crash reports can include a screenshot of the screen you were on.
